The story behind the patent: rethinking the insole

Poland built itself on linen and looms, so flax was never far from hand. The question our founders kept returning to was simple: if linen is this good against the skin, why is every insole still stamped from foam?

The answer turned out to be construction. A single layer of linen is lovely but limp; it needs structure. The breakthrough was a way to bond and pleat three densities of linen — an open, absorbent face, a supportive core and a dense, durable base — into one piece that holds its shape and survives the wash.

That method is what we protected. The insole carries a European intellectual-property certificate, and as far as we know it is the first patent of its kind anywhere in the world — the beginning of a category, not a copy of one.

It still sounds modest when you say it out loud: a better insole. But anyone who has worn their shoes without socks through a long day knows it is anything but.
