We set out to free the foot from the sock.

In a small manufactory in Łódź, Poland's old textile heartland, our founders spent years experimenting with flax. Linen had cooled and protected feet for a thousand years, but no one had engineered it to perform like a precision material inside a shoe.

The breakthrough was a method of joining and pleating three densities of pure European linen into one resilient insole — antibacterial, thermoregulating and endlessly washable. We protected it with a European intellectual-property certificate; to our knowledge, it is the first patent of its kind in the world.

Everything is still cut, layered and finished by hand, in modest batches, close enough that we know the people who make it. This is slow manufacture, on purpose — made to be washed and re-worn for seasons, not thrown away.
